A unique approach to mental health
Mind & Mission was founded by psychotherapists Kirsty Ritchie and Louise Scott, both accredited members of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society
“Through our own experiences, we connected deeply on the stresses and difficulties that can arise from everyday life or from the workplace.
We also know that when we manage our mental and emotional state, we can overcome life’s most difficult challenges.
But, it’s more than that; it’s about living our true values, trusted relationships and human conversations.“

Meet Kirsty and Louise
Kirsty Ritchie MNCPS Accred
Kirsty grew up in the Scottish Borders and started her career in the knitwear industry.
After 10 years in manufacturing, she moved into financial services. Initially as a credit controller, Kirsty mastered the art of difficult conversations!
Achieving her ACCA qualification while leading the adoption of IFRS was an enormous personal achievement and led her into the teaching profession, where her passion for helping others was firmly established.
Her last corporate position was in banking, where adapting to change had become a critical skill. She saw through the global financial crisis and witnessed the aftermath on people’s mental health.
After personally experiencing bullying treatment in the workplace, Kirsty had a strong desire to retrain, meeting Louise on the first day of her advanced diploma in psychotherapeutic counselling.
Louise Scott MNCPS Accred
Originally from Worcestershire, Louise started her HR career in investment banking in London. Nine years later she was Head of Global Policy & Practice at Investec Bank.
Upon moving to Scotland in 2003, she became an associate of a major management consultancy firm.
Louise left financial services in 2011, to work in the Scottish drinks industry, focusing on the global capabilities of the supply chain.
During her career, Louise has led many large scale corporate change programmes, seeing first-hand the impact these have on mental health.
Louise is an experienced executive coach and it was in this role she realised that sessions were wandering into the realm of counselling.
Seeing this disconnect, Louise wanted to better support those in personal and professional crisis. Having experienced burnout herself, she took the decision to retrain in psychotherapy.
The rest as they say, is history!
